Leon Garbade

I have recently been voted in as President of Natal Deep Sea Angling Association following a 3 year Vice President portfolio. I am extremely proud to lead our province and believe in the value that our Provincial Association gives back to the angling fraternity.

I have always been passionate about fishing and my home club is Shelly Beach Ski Boat Club where I have been Commodore for the past 6 years.  We have hosted many provincial tournaments at our club and I have seen the importance of nurturing our anglers and motivating them to progress through the ranks of provincial angling, through to SADSAA level and ultimately to Protea Colours.

Provincial angling instils an attitude of dedication, integrity, pride and a sense of belonging to a like-minded community and family.  We are fortunate to have a diverse group of competitive anglers in our province with a multitude of talents at various skill levels.

Our goals include continuing the strong development and growth of our anglers and to continue to be a force to reckon with at tournaments. We will be calling on our stronger more experienced anglers to take on a mentorship role of our rising stars to ensure that they have the best opportunities to grow their skills, compete against some of the finest anglers in the country and succeed.

I am excited for the year ahead and look forward to working with our esteemed council.
